Gameplay of Homeworld, a real-time strategy game developed by Relic Entertainment and distributed by Sierra in 1999 for PC. I was wondering how this game would run on PCem, a somewhat modern and advanced for the maximum that this emulator of old PCs can run. I emulate an AMD K6-III+/400 (although according to the bios it is 373 mhz) with 512MB of RAM and a 3DFX Voodoo 3000. This is the maximum I can emulate with my CPU, a powerful 13900K, without dropping the emulation percentage with this game, and even so you stutter in the sound can be hear, that's because sometimes it drops a little from 100%. PCem uses only one CPU thread (so it doesn't matter if you have 32 like in my case).

I set the game with all graphics options to maximum and also resolution to 1280x1024, very high for the time (maybe the equivalent of 4K back then?). The game runs well, not at 60 but playable, anyway, it seems worse because, for me, the biggest negative point of this game is that even if the game runs at 60 fps, all the movement except the camera, whether cinematics, the movement of the ships, etc seems like 20 fps, and this is a thing of the game, not the PC on which it runs.

Otherwise a great game, which amazed in its time to ETR lovers for its thematic and sci-fi plot, a fantastic space setting, good graphics, awesome soundtrack, and of course, a gameplay that managed to bring the classic concept of the ETR to a fully 3D environment and movement. It was considered one of the best of the genre in its time. This game currently has a remaster along with its sequel, which may be better to play today. By the way, not many months ago its third installment was released (the fourth actually), which I have to try someday.

NOTE: I had to mute some segments of the gameplay due to copyright issues.
