The Aurumaton Gatekeeper robot elite is insanely strong when fighting against other robot or monster type enemy elites. I give it +3 energy and +1 addition turn chips to instantly transform and CC/disable two enemies on turn 1. Its summons give 2 free SP each turn over 2 turns!
The remaining three are always the Trotter, Silvermane Cannoneer, and Imaginary Weaver. You get these units very early on! I setup my Trotter as ultra tank + dmg/atk-up buffer with defensive chips. Silvermane Cannoneer has a lot of synergy with Imaginary Weaver for follow-up AOE dmg. I give it some self +ATK & team wide buffing chip. I give Imaginary Weaver dmg debuff chip which is great with its AOE attacks.
When fighting against human elite unit, I would switch Aurumaton Gatekeeper to Silvermane Lieutenant to avoid the weak match-up. Could also use Gatekeeper against robot elite. This unit change enables strong synergy between Gatekeeper and Silvermane Cannoneer. Since Trotter has a pre-emptive shielding aggro chip, Gatekeeper get to counter attack before even casting shield. Every time it counter attack when shielded allies get hit, Silvermane Cannoneer does a follow-up attack as well. We also use Imaginary Weaver to debuff enemies for more dmg taken. This is a massive amount of sustainable counter-attack dmg while outlasting the opponent with shield + heals.
