Portland's own Hovercraft Amplifiers have come up with something very cool here. For starters it looks the biz. Like a little green dune buggy except built even tougher. It backs up the groovy attire with some even cooler tones. Everything from smooth, low-medium overdrive through to outright violent fuzz can be dialled up with the gain control, making the Ionostrofear truly versatile. The tone control is not just a treble booster - it's far more subtle and will have a marked difference on your tone depending on the amp it's seeing. And this pedal is as quiet as it is cool.
There's a lot to like about the Ionostrofear, beginning at the NOS 70's knobs. It's a special stomp and it's easy to tell that there's some dedicated and serious talent behind it. Nice one, lads.
