How a Quantum Computer Works
440What is quantum computing? What can quantum computers do, and how do quantum computers work? We are on the brink of a radical new approach to computing, but it’s only suitable for certain problems. Quantum computing is so different to current digital computing that you may almost consider it to not be computing in the same sense. Still, these next-generation devices will be able to solve problems that are impossible for current computers. This is going to have a radical impact on many different aspects of society and technology. This isn’t some distant future, the technology is proven, and quantum computers are already working, so what do the next steps look like?
In this episode, Dave Farley, author of “Continuous Delivery” and “Modern Software Engineering” looks at the nascent field of quantum computing and explains the remarkable things they can do, and why they can do them.
