Chandrayaan 2 mission was a precursor mission to Chandrayaan 3 by India's ISRO. This mission failed to land on the lunar surface and I have discussed potential reasons for this failure along with improvements made in Chandrayaan 3 by ISRO. I have referred to research papers by some authors on this topic along with clarification given by ISRO Chairman S Somnath.
