Animation has definitely come a long way. From the original black and white Disney cartoons to the super realistic looking animated films we see released now, the technological developments are pretty extraordinary. So how do Pixar and Disney studios manage to create such life-like environments and true to life animations?
There is plenty of research and technological development behind many of our favourite Disney characters. These animators have even managed to personify and bring human and animal like characteristics to some elemental forces! Yes, we’re looking at you Moana, Frozen 2 and Raya and the Last Dragon.
We will be taking a look at how the latest Pixar movie Soul brought intense realism to the way Joe passionately plays piano and what the environments have to do with bringing these films into our reality. Ever heard of aerogel? This ethereal-like synthetic material was a key factor in bringing the visual of “souls” to the screen!
