How Has The UK Become The World's 'Fourth Largest' Defence Spender?
3,630The UK has become the world's fourth largest defence spender, according to new analysis of global military power.
A year ago, it was sixth in the rankings, according to the annual ‘Military Balance’ study by the International Institute For Strategic Studies.
It says the world as a whole increased its defence spending to over £1.3 trillion last year, despite the economic turmoil of COVID-19, but the authors warn of a ‘day of reckoning’ ahead.
