How I deal with monkeys on Ascension
17Requested by Howiecat. He had been asking me what strats I use to deal with Space Monkey Rounds.
Since the monkeys cannot go after the Wunderfizz machine, for the first time I only have to defend Jugg. Which is pretty easy. I bought the 1250 door since in solo runs I don't bother with Quick Revive. It's easier to run down these steps than to go back to spawn.
For later rounds when I have to defend Jugg, Speed Cola, and Mule Kick, I start by throwing trip mines down the stairs, then turning on the fire trap. This gives me an alert system. If I hear the mines go off I know they are going for Jugg. But once I can tell that the coast is clear on the Mule Kick Side, I run through the flames. (BE CAREFUL. You can go down if you have been damaged.) and focus on defending from outside the building since I know the monkeys spawned far away.
I find the trick is having an idea in your head of where they are spawning that helps out.
A shotgun is pretty helpful too. The Thundergun works, but it is a two shot. The first shot stuns the monkeys. The second shot will kill them.
But ultimately this is only the strat that works for me! Use whatever strategy you prefer. I don't care what strategy you use.....JUST........HAVE A STRATEGY!
