How I install tiny rare earth magnets in my laser cut designs - Workshop Feb 25, 2023
I show a few tricks I've learned about installing hundreds of these small, rare earth magnets. tl;dw:
Make the holes the right size. Iterate until you find a size that is just big enough to hold the magnet - maybe even slightly smaller if your material is soft (like wood).
Get some Gel super glue (CA glue). It's much easy to keep neat and clean this way.
Use the magnets as a tool. Use a small stack of magnets to help press a single magnet into a hole.
Use the installed magnets to help orient the other magnets if you lose track of which way is up

Measurements I used for these magnets
Round holes are 2.94mm
Rectangular holes are 2.94x2.84mm They are a little shorter than they are wide.

A more complex
