One of the most common questions we get on the YouTube channel is “How did you learn Japanese?” or, “what resources did you use to learn Japanese?”

I am actually conversational in several languages, including Spanish and Korean. But given our focus on video games and, specifically, Japanese RPG’s, most people out there are curious about learning Japanese. The benefits of learning Japanese include early access to some games “like Persona 5”, exclusive access to other games, and a deeper understanding of dialogue and story in games that were translated from Japanese (especially older ones). Here’s my guide to learning the language while living outside the country.
