How I make my chords sound more 80's 🎵
I'm sick of these "chord pack" ads on every YouTube video I watch and I'm gonna do something about it... imma teach you some chord theory ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
In this video Ricky Summer talks you through the basic chord theory he implements when he's right 80's inspired music. The chords discussed in the video are constructed as follows...
Triad: 1, 3, 5
Sus2: 1, 2, 5
Sus4: 1, 4, 5
Add2: 1, 2, 3, 5
Add4: 1, 3, 4, 5
ORIGINAL PROGRESSION
Am, F, G
FINAL PROGRESSION
A, Fsus2, Gsus4, G
A, F, G, Gsus2, G
A, Fsus2, Gsus4, G
F, G
NOTE: The reason the "Fsus4" didn't work is because I played it wrong, it should have been "F, Bb, C". That's non-diatonic, though, which means it uses notes that are not in the scale e.g. not all white keys.
