One of the most common questions for me on Twitch is "How do you midair so well?" I haven't told anybody because of how long the true description of a midair would be. The midairs I'm going to be referring to are the "slow" midairs and the "flick" midairs.

The slow midair (the one you see first in the video) is the more consistent way to midairs. It involves tapping left after you jump and releasing run and hitting right at the correct moment. But the question is, when do you release run? There are 2-3 frames to do a midair and the frames I usually use is the frame before you hit right or the exact timing of hitting right. My consistent way of picking out these frames is letting go of run as your left thumb hovers over the right side of the d-pad. I usually go 3/4 of the d-pad just in case I let go of run too soon. Because the motion of hitting right is so quick, this method usually works because it accounts for delay.

The flick midair (the second one you see in the video) is used for longer distances but is a little less consistent. This type of midair would be better for players who use stick because of the risk of hitting up on the d-pad. This type of midair uses the same general concept of a slow midair but it happens a lot quicker. You don't have enough time to plan the midair after you jump, so you just have to do it. The queue I use for this midair is letting go of run right after you hit left. Because the left right is so fast, this timing will get you to let go of run 1 frame before hitting right. When you do this correctly, you should hear 3 separate button clicks. The first being left, second being the run button, and third being the right button. If you only hear 2 clicks, there is a very low chance of getting the midair.

Hopefully this helped with the people who are struggling with midairs. And remember, this is my personal method of doing midairs, there are many other methods if this doesn't work for you.
