Most Naruto fans know that the rasengan was a jutsu first created by the fourth hokage as a jutsu Minato wanted to teach Kushina as a gift, but as we got told in Naruto’s manga, the jutsu is incomplete because Minato couldn’t add a chakra nature to it and neither was Kakashi. However, Naruto, Konohamaru, and Boruto have each done so multiple times and when it comes to 32 year old Konohamaru in Boruto two blue vortex, he’s taken rasengan to a different level by making his second wind variation of the wind release rasengan. The jutsu is called the rasen barrier. Basically Konohamaru applies wind release to the rasengan, but instead of containing the chakra in a spinning ball, he contains the chakra in the form of a vortex barrier that swirls in front of his body, basically like a shield. Konohamaru made this jutsu specifically for countering the chidori, since lightning release is inferior to wind release. The reason being is that during this time Sasuke was labeled a rogue ninja for helping Boruto escape Konoha after he was framed for Naruto’s murder by Kawaki. In short, Konohamaru wanted all the smoke.
