How much DOES a CPU Matter in Practice?
I test AM4's upgradability by going from a first gen 1800X from 2017, all the way to the 5700X3D in 2024. How much of an overhaul does the CPU make to a standard setup that somebody upgrading in this way might have? I put it to the real-world test to discover the stuff that a severely CPU-limited benchmark wouldn't.
Both are 8 cores, but under the hood they couldn't be more different. Well, they both have hyperthreading as well. And the same clockspeeds! And are on the same platform. But forget about all those things and they're totally different, honest.
