(The rule-of-thumb to follow is 5500 Wood, 400 Stone and 30 Cloth. You'll need extra 3345 Stone to strengthen the walls and 300 Metal Fragments to build metal doors.)
If you're new to Rust and want to know just how many materials you'll need to build your first solo starter base, in this video I'll show you, and this applies to PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
It wouldn't be my sort of video if I didn't slip on some of the numbers, so here are the relevant ones:

Stone Hatchet (Need 2) (For Harvesting Wood) 400W, 200S
Stone Pick Axe (Need 2) (For harvesting Stone) 400W 100S
Building Hammer 100W
Building Plan 20W
Sub-total 920W 200S
---Components:
Tool Cupboard 1000W
Lock for Tool Cupboard 75W
Locks for Doors 75W EACH (Need 2)
Wooden Door 300W EACH (need 2)
Sleeping Bag 30Cloth

---Build:
Foundation: 125W (500W) (750S)
Walls 300W (1200W) (1800S)
Door Frames 70W (270W) (420S)

---Total for tools, components and build for Wooden Starter Base is 5423W, 400S, 30Cloth & to upgrade to Stone Walls, add 3345 Stone, and for Metal Doors, 300 Metal Fragments for two doors, re-using the old locks.
