How NFTs Hurt Game Design
NFTs and Video Games have joined forces to created Gaming NFTs, and Gamers and Developers aren't happy. While Ubisoft is ahead with Ubisoft Quartz, we discuss how Gaming NFTs affect current game design, how will NFTs affect Video Game progression and balance, and why Video Games will have to change if NFT are here to stay.
The reception of NFTs have united Gamers and Game Developers alike in a mass rebellion against implementing NFTs within Video Games. With Ubisoft leading with Ubisoft Quartz, the President of Square Enix using User-Generated Content as an excuse, and Konami selling Castlevania NFTs, even celebrities are joining the NFT conversation with their abysmal hot takes.
Thanks to the reception of NFTs, some developers have gone as far as to removed planned NFT elements from their highly anticipated future games in the fear of negative coverage - STALKER 2 developer GSC Game World being an example.
Gaming NFTs are bad for the environment, finance, and games. Don't fall for them - they're glorified microtransactions.
