We live in a strange era where really bad, poorly written, and poorly executed scripts make it to the big screen, while truly good scripts and ideas never see the light of day. unfairness develop at every level and in all aspects of Hollywood, from catering to makeup and scripts. Here is yet another example (as if we needed another one). If it weren't for her father, this script/movie would never have been made or even read.
The plot of "The Watchers 2024" is so disjointed and meaningless that it makes no sense. It's like watching several separate things that are not connected in any way. The writing is at a kindergarten level, to put it gently. The only good thing about this movie was the trailer, which turned out to be a big bait. I trusted Dakota Fanning in this movie, but throughout the film, she looks like she doesn't want to finish it. The other actors seem to have just gotten lost on set and decided to stay to avoid spending money on a taxi back home.
Ishana Shyamalan's direction is simply a disaster. It seems he decided to gather all the clichés from horror and fantasy movies and cram them into one film. The result? Complete chaos. Scenes that were supposed to be scary only induce laughter. And moments that were supposed to be touching make you yawn.
In short, "The Watchers 2024" is a film worth watching only in one case: if you want to understand how not to make a movie. But if you still decide to undertake this feat, stock up on popcorn and patience. You will need it.
