How the New Princess Peach Game Can Stand Alone and Draw in Newcomers | Showtime Spotlight
This video is a part of our Spotlight Series where we focus in on upcoming video games and compile important details about games that we are excited to play. Our intentions are to put together an efficient preview that packs the highlights of what we believe are the 3 major pillars of video game development; Story (Setting/Plot), Gameplay, and Progression.
This week we’re filling Cole, a relative newcomer to Nintendo’s magical set of characters and games, in on why Princess Peach: Showtime is such an exciting game that he should be looking out for.
Princess Peach Showtime is an upcoming action/adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Switch. It is Princess Peach’s first solo game since Super Princess Peach released on DS in 2006.
In this video we discuss how Super Princess Peach didn’t do the character justice and how Showtime is set to let Peach shine in the way she’s always deserved. We outline the story premise of the game: Peach has to save the Sparkle Theater from the villainous Grape and her Sour Bunch by teaming up with her newest companion, a magical star named Stella that helps Peach perform powerful transformations.
One of the most important aspects of this game that we wanted to really point out is how different it is from traditional Mario games. It has platforming elements like Mario games but that’s pretty much where the comparisons stop.
We cover ALL 10 PEACH TRANSFORMATIONS. These transformations include: Sword-fighter peach, Ninja Peach, Cowgirl Peach, Kung Fu Peach, Mighty Peach, Patisserie Peach, Detective Peach, Mermaid Peach, Dashing Thief Peach and Figure Skater Peach.
We also discuss the progression system, comparing it to old school Crash Bandicoot hub room level selection.
