Update 24.1 goes public on PC servers June 13th-14th 2023.
Update 24.1 goes public on Console Servers June 21st-22nd 2023.
With update 24.1 everyone will be able to have one of the pieces of Tactical Gear available from the beginning of a match, without having to find and loot it.
When you're on the ground, just select your "Tactical Gear Carrier" and choose which piece of gear you'd like to use for the whole match, and it's yours.
This does of course bring up some balancing issues, as I think that most players, especially in solo matches, are just going to choose the Bluechip Detector, which is a COD-like Heartbeat Sensor in all but name.
This sensor can be countered by equipping the Jammer Backpack, but I think they should either remove the Blue Chip Detector completely, or have the Jammer Backpack available as a Tactical Gear Choice too.
