How to (Actually) React - Thoughts & Analysis of the Community
Hi! I'm Mat4yo.
Sorry if I offended anyone, I just tell it like it is.
Shoutout to the Reel Rejects for their idea to make this video! Their reactions have my respect. Check them out: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7_WiJnJxpm4MRNesRttzWg
If you don't understand the metaphors in the song, here:
The Pythagorean Theorem is a mathematical constant regarding the three sides of right triangles. the two sides that connect to the right angle are called the "legs" and are labeled as A & B. The side diagonal from the right angle is called the "hypotenuse" and is labeled C. The formula states that a(^2) + b(^2) = c(^2). The focal point is that the hypotenuse, the side supported by the legs, is always longer than both of the legs.
This insinuates that reactions are a dependent side of the triangle - not necessarily seeing MORE views, but have an easier time staying relevant, or maintaining longevity. (It's longer because of the support of A & B, but without A & B, it would fall) No matter how easy it gets for the C side to be supported by A & B - there's one thing it foundational-ly lacks. While C draws from both sides of A & B (quite literally, since you draw triangles that way), it does NOT have a connection at the point that A & B do - and that's where the RIGHT angle is. So, Reactors are not taking the "right angled" approach to succeeding on Youtube. They draw from both creativity and quality, but lack the core of what those two have provided platforms on Youtube to people - content.
I compare the almost immediate popularity of reaction videos to myself. Being on Youtube for 9 years included a point where it once was just for fun. However, seeing others having "fun" and making a living off of it made me question why I couldn't have the same recognition.
Reactors casted substance-less bait into the YouTube ocean and reeled in a gargantuan amount of popularity. Meanwhile, not only do I get small amounts of recognition, but I get the slightest views from people who don't think before they criticize and condemn.
But, reactors manipulated a system with raw tools: webcams, eyes, laughter. And looking at their numbers compared to mine, how can I say anything bad about them? They're on a pedestal and I'm not - that alone is enough for them to hold against me. So I can do nothing but applaud and accept it.
They're not the types of videos I would expect to be popular, but they are. They are successful. So what can I say other than well, that's fair...?
But I still think its welfare
If I sound like a whiner, oops lol just complaining about the broken system
