About this video: Adding a map to Minecraft in 2023 isn’t very difficult. However, it can be overwhelming as not only do you have to find a map, but you will need to extract and ensure you have the correct files and folders in order for it to work correctly.
With that being said, the first step of adding a map to Minecraft is downloading it. You can find a list of Minecraft maps you can download in the description above. We have all kinds of different maps from adventure to horror to survival to puzzle. There is an option for everyone!
Once you have your map downloaded, you can extract it by right-click on the file, clicking ‘extract all’, and then, click ‘extract’ on the window that appears. Your map will now be extracted from the .zip file into a folder.
Open this folder, and make sure that you see folders and files like region, DIM1, and DIM-1. If not, keep clicking through the folders until you do. Then, go back one folder and move this to your desktop. Finally, you have the folder with the map you are going to add to Minecraft PC.
Press the Windows Key and R on your keyboard at the same time to open up the Run app. In this app, type %appdata% and hit enter. Your Roaming folder will open. Open the .minecraft folder. Then, open the saves folder.
To install a Minecraft world on PC, just drag-and-drop the folder with your map files in into your saves folder. It’s that easy. Double check this is the correct folder with the correct files by opening it. When you do, you are good to go!
Open Minecraft, go to Singleplayer, and your Minecraft map will be there. Double click it to start playing.
