Step 1. Tap to open the "Settings" app on your Android device, and then tap "Apps" in this menu.

Step 2. Scroll down to the General section, and then tap "App Battery Usage." The associated menu opens where you'll see a list of all of the apps installed on your device.

Step 3. Tap the app you want to allow to run in the background. The App Battery Usage menu opens.

Step 4. Navigate to the Manage Battery Usage section, and then tap to enable "Allow Background Usage" if it isn't turned on already. This Android app will run in the background going forward.
