How to automatically trim silences in DaVinci Resolve - 2025 HD
Learn how to speed up your video editing considerably with this method. We'll save a lot of time editing long videos that usually only rely on silent cuts. COMMANDS TO USE IN CMD:
CHECK IF PYTHON IS INSTALLED
python --version
INSTALL AUTO-EDITOR
pip install auto-editor
IF A CODEC IS MISSING, ENTER THE FOLLOWING CODE
pip install --upgrade pip
CHECK THAT IT IS INSTALLED CORRECTLY
auto-editor --help
TO UPDATE
pip install auto-editor --upgrade
This is used to update AUTO-EDITOR.
UNINSTALL
pip uninstall auto-editor
Command to use Auto-Editor:
Open CMD in the address bar from the folder where the video or audio is located and copy the name and/or format depending on the type of file, whether audio or video. and edit the following code:
IN DAVINCI RESOLVE
auto-editor video.mp4 --margin 0.2 sec --export resolve
