How to Avoid Automatic Image Resizing in Photoshop CC 2022
Have you ever imported an image into Photoshop CC 2022 only to find that it has been automatically resized to fit within the canvas? This can be frustrating, especially if you need the image to be a specific size for a project. In this tutorial, we'll show you how to avoid automatic image resizing in Photoshop CC 2022.
First, open Photoshop CC 2022 and go to Edit Preferences General (Windows) or Photoshop Preferences General (Mac).
In the Preferences window, scroll down to the "Image Interpolation" section and select "Nearest Neighbor (preserve hard edges)" from the drop-down menu. This will ensure that any imported images are not automatically resized or interpolated, preserving the original pixel dimensions.
Next, go to File Open and select the image you want to import. If the image is larger than the canvas, it will be placed in the center of the canvas and may appear larger than the canvas. To adjust the size of the image to fit the canvas, go to Edit Free Transform (or press Ctrl/Cmd+T) and use the handles to resize the image.
Hold down the Shift key while dragging a corner handle to maintain the aspect ratio of the image. You can also adjust the position of the image within the canvas by clicking and dragging within the bounding box.
Once you're happy with the size and position of the image, press Enter or click the checkmark in the options bar to apply the transformation.
That's it! By changing the Image Interpolation setting to Nearest Neighbor and manually adjusting the size and position of the image, you can avoid automatic image resizing in Photoshop CC 2022.
