Backing up computer hardware drivers is important for many reasons. Hardware will not work without a driver so when you wipe / format your computer the drivers will be lost. Hardware like Network Driver, Graphics Driver etc will not work. Now if this is the only computer you have you will not be able to download the latest driver for your NIC card which means no internet. Now unless you have the motherboard CD or access to the internet you will be scuppered. Hence why backing up drivers is important.
