How to Backup and Restore Pokemon Gameboy Advance Saves [R4i Flash Card]
How to backup and restore GBA game saves and backup GBA Roms to your computer using an R4i Flash Card.
I am going to show you how to backup and restore SAVES from your GBA games as well as backup ROMs of your physical games onto your computers. I recommend an R4i Flash Card with DLDI auto-patch. Apologize for the glare and back focus in this video.
[STEPS]
- Use the Micro SD USB Card Reader (or your own) to connect it to your computer.
- Download the software for your flash card depending on what you own http://www.r4i-sdhc.com/downloade.asp
- Download the GBA Backup Tool .NDS rom https://digiex.net/threads/gba-backup-tool-backup-gba-saves-dump-a-gameboy-advanced-rom-using-a-nintendo-ds.9921/
- Extract both to your micro SD card
- Put micro SD card into R4 and boot up your DS or DS Lite, have your GBA game inserted.
- On the main menu of your R4 select GAME, then the GBA Backup Tool.
- When using the GBA Backup Tool you have 3 options: Backup SAV file onto the micro SD card, restore a SAV file from the micro SD card, or backup the entire ROM onto your micro SD card. This will create a new folder called GBA Backup on your micro SD card.
- Once done you can put these on your computer and play your game using VBA or other emulator of your choice, if using another game ROM than your own make sure the ROM and SAV files have identical names.
You can now play your games on the computer, shiny hunt faster, or use programs like PKHex to save your Pokemon or add new ones. Use Mystery Gift Tool to get special event items like Aurora Ticket, Eon Ticket, etc.
