Prof. Missy Cummings, Director of the MIT Humans and Automation Laboratory (halab.mit.edu) will present a broad overview of projects in her lab ranging from robotic forklift supervisory control interface design to tabletop designs for complex system resource allocation and scheduling. She will highlight recent work in the design and testing of a smartphone interface that allows a casual user to almost immediately be able to pilot a Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). She will discuss future applications of such devices as well as commercialization possibilities.
