I am currently pursuing my master degree in computer applications.
I wanted to become a free lance web developer but i don't have any idea about how to get my first job as web developer .I have learned ruby on rails quite a lot.
on a personal note
the channel you are doing is great gives us moral boost to bearded guys like :) .
So My Advice on Becoming a Freelance Web Developer Without a Job is Self Learning or You Can Attendant a Ruby on Rails Bootcamp.
#Number 1 is That You Need to Build a Portfolio and If You Had Never Build a Web Portfolio than Go to Your Local Mosque or Church. Build Websites for Mosque, Church or For Non-Profit Organizations.
#Number 2 if You are Too Shy than Build a Normal Humanity Websites Like Save the Ocean, Clean the Sea or Etc.
#Number 3 After That if You Have 4 to 5 Websites Build than You Have Confidence than You Take on Big Web Development Project.
Without a Job You Can Become a Amazing Web Developer But You Can't Be Jack of All Trades than Masters One Programming Language Like JavaScript , PHP or Ruby on Rails.
#Number 4 If Get a Web Design Project Which is Out of Your Skills than OutSource it on Odesk(Upwork) or Freelance.
#Number 5 Don't Give Excuse Because a Person is Failure is Only Due to One Reason Which is Excuse.
If You are Saying You Want to Find a Job Thats Why You Can't Build Your Websites Portfolio.
#Number 6 is thee Hardest Part Because You Need to Go to Your Local Business Area or DownTown and Hand Them Your Web Design Services Flyers With Your Name card Stapled to it.
Most of the Clients Will Throw Your Business Cards and Flyers.
Give the Client Freebie Like Shirts and Coffee Mugs With Their Company Name.
If You Go to 100 Clients than You Will Get a 1 Client So Its Up to You How Many Clients You Go to and Give Your Freelancing Web Development Services.
Stay in Confidence and Do Soft Sales Rather than Hard Sales.
