If you've played GbG in diamond league, especially at 1000 MMR, you've seen the now infamous checkerboard of doom. Getting caught on the receiving end of a checkerboard is one of the most frustrating and not fun thing about GbG.

A perfectly setup checkerboard is extremely hard to break and requires a ton of attrition and winning races, but it is possible to break up. It's much easier when you're only against 1 strong guild and 1 or more weak guilds... And it helps if the other guilds on the outside looking in can also help with forcing flips and getting the timers lined up for a big run on sectors.

This video walks through how to plan your point of attack and how to find a weakness in the checkerboard and what to do to keep moving when you hit the soft-locked/primed sectors.

p.s. If you end up getting multiple trap into multiple forts on race sectors, there's a point where you just can't get out - but in that case, you're burning up their treasury for future seasons. That type of gameplay isn't sustainable, so hit them where it hurts (if they gvg, go beat them up on the map to hurt their goods even more, duh!)
