If you've forgotten the PIN on your Samsung Galaxy Tab Tablet and want to factory reset it to restore it to the state it was when it was first out of the box, follow these steps. This process will erase all data on your device, so proceed only if you're okay with losing everything on it.
1. Factory Reset via Recovery Mode (if You Can't Access the Device)
Turn off the tablet (if it’s on).
If the tablet is unresponsive, press and hold Power + Volume Down for about 10 seconds to force it to turn off.
Enter Recovery Mode:
Press and hold Volume Up + Power buttons at the same time.
When the Samsung logo appears, release the Power button but keep holding the Volume Up button until you see the Android Recovery Menu.
Navigate to Wipe Data/Factory Reset:
Use the Volume Down button to scroll down to Wipe data/factory reset.
Press the Power button to select it.
Confirm Factory Reset:
Use the Volume Down button to select Yes to confirm that you want to erase all data.
Press the Power button to confirm.
Reboot the System:
After the reset is complete, select Reboot system now.
The tablet will reboot and be restored to factory settings.
2. After the Reset (Google Account Verification)
If Factory Reset Protection (FRP) is enabled (this happens if you’ve signed in with a Google account), after the reset, you will be asked to sign in with the Google account that was previously used on the device.
Important Notes:
The factory reset will erase all data from the tablet, including apps, photos, and settings.
If Google FRP is enabled, you’ll need to sign in with the Google account linked to the device. #forgotpassword
