How to Cargo Link Inter-Systems Work in Starfield

Check us out live at https://www.twitch.tv/McKaysPlay

In this video I’m going to answer every question I had about Cargo Link - Inter-Systems

Hey YouTube, we’re here for a good time, not a long time

What is the difference between a Cargo Link and a Cargo Link - Inter-System?
Cargo Links enable you to move resources between planets in the same system
Cargo Link - Inter-Systems enable you to move resources between planets in different systems
Cargo Link - Inter-Systems also require fuel to operate
Regular Cargo Links do not use fuel

Are you going to continue to say Cargo Link - Inter-System for the rest of the video?
Hell no, henceforth I’ll be referring to them as Cargo Link - IS

What are all the parts on a Cargo Link - IS?
The Fuel storage tank is located on the back
The red Outgoing storage container is located on the front
The green Incoming storage container is located on the front
The Control Console is located on the back and the front

How do I unlock Cargo Link - ISs?
You’ll need to unlock Outpost Engineering Rank 1
Then you’ll need to complete Research Manufacturing 1
Here’s a list of items you’ll need
2 Zero Wire
3 Adaptive Frame
3 Iron
3 Sealant

How do I set up a Cargo Link - IS?
Place down a Cargo Link - IS
Here’s another list of items you’ll need
Cargo Link - IS shopping list
20 Iron
12 Aluminum
1 Comm Relay
3 Reactive Gauge
Next build a Gas Storage Container
Gas Storage Container shopping list
And another list of items you’ll need
3 Adaptive Frame
5 Tungsten
6 Copper
Prime the Gas Storage Container by filling it with Helium-3
Cargo Link - ISs use 10 Helium-3 every delivery cycle
5 Helium-3 is used every time the delivery ship enters the atmosphere
and 5 Helium-3 is used every time it leaves the atmosphere
Your Cargo Link - IS is now ready to send and/or receive resources

What happens if my Cargo Link - IS runs out of Helium-3?
The delivery ship will stay on the platform and wait until there is enough Helium-3 to take off
This will stop your Cargo Link - IS from sending or receiving resources

How much Helium-3 does my Cargo Link - IS use?
One metric butt-tonne
Two connected Cargo Link - ISs will use about 440 Helium-3 every hour of gameplay

How often will I get deliveries from my Cargo Link IS?
One delivery cycle takes about 2 minutes and 45 seconds
Once the link between two Cargo Link - ISs is created they will continually send the delivery ship between the two of them until the link is removed

What if there isn’t a full load of resources to deliver, will it still send the delivery ship and use up my precious Helium-3?
Yes
The delivery ship gives zero [EXPLICIT] and will continue to fly back and forth on schedule even if there are no resources to deliver

Do Cargo Link - ISs use fuel or send/receive resources while I’m resting to fast forward time?
Yes and no. Every connected Cargo Link - ISs pair will use 20 Helium-3 per hour of local time that you wait, but will not actually send or receive resources during the wait time.
If the game stops because you paused or Alt+Tabbed out of the game, the Cargo Link - ISs won't be working

Can I link resources from one Cargo Link - IS to multiple receiving Cargo Link - ISs?
No

Can I filter the Incoming Container to send different resources to specific containers?
No

Can I trick the Incoming Container to send different resources to specific storage containers anyway?
Yes, you can import one gas type, one liquid type, and one solid type and they will be forced to transfer to their respective storage container type

Is it possible to ship multiple resources from a single Cargo Link - IS?
That is a terrible idea and will eventually jam up your Cargo Link - IS

Where can I see a list of all the Outposts I currently have?
You can’t, Thanks Team Todd

Do you have a way to create a list of all the Outposts I currently have anyways?
Yes, place a Bot of your favorite type in each Outpost
I like the Security Mini Bot because he’s the bestest boi
All Bots require the following materials
2 Zero Wire
4 Aluminum
3 Beryllium
Navigate to your Ship Menu, then open your Crew menu, then switch on over to Outposts
If you have a bot, robot, or crew member stationed at an Outpost it will show up in this list
Outposts without anyone stationed there will not show up in this list

How do I fix a bugged link?
Delete the receiving Cargo Link - IS
Delete the sending Cargo Link - IS
Rebuild the sending Cargo Link - IS
Rebuild the receiving Cargo Link - IS
Reconnect the link between them
Verify delivery ship inbound aka look up

Can I automate fuel delivery to all my Cargo Link - ISs?
Yes, in my next video I’ll show you how to set up a Helium-3 Supply Chain
