What is a Perk pool?
Each Magazine type has a perk for every issue in the series
Trackers Primer has 5 issues and 5 total Perks to unlock
Mining Monthly has 10 issues and a total of 10 Perks to unlock
I refer to this as a Perk pool
Does it matter what order I pick up the Magazines?
No, the Perks will unlock in the same order, regardless of which Magazine number you pick up first
You will unlock the Perks in the same order from the Perk Pool if you pick up issues 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 or if you pick up issue 05, 04, 03, 02, 01
Are there any exceptions to Magazines unlocking Perks in a set order?
Yes, Magazines with recipes (Colonization Guide, Neon Nights, and The New Atlantian) These Magazines have recipes that are tied to specific issue numbers.
Do I have to collect every Magazine issue that has a recipe?
Yes, if you want to unlock all the recipes, Thanks team Todd.
Do I have to collect every Magazine issue?
Nope, just the ones with recipes, you’ll eventually get all the other Perks if you just keep playing New Game+ playthroughs
Do Magazine Perks carry over to New Game+?
Yes, they do
Do I have to collect all the Magazines in my first playthrough?
No, you will keep the Perks you’ve unlocked every time you New Game+
Each time you pick up a Magazine in New Game+ you will continue to unlock the next Perk in the Perk pool
Can I pick up the same Magazine five times to unlock the whole Perk pool?
Yes, as long as you pick up the same Magazine in different playthroughs via New Game+
The same Magazine number will be blank if you find another in the same playthrough
How can I find the same Magazine issue number in the same playthrough?
Many Magazines are placed in Points of Interest, such as Abandoned Robotics Facility
Those POIs have the same static items (like Magazines) placed in them when they are generated
Each Abandoned Robotics Facility should have a UC Defense Manual 05 in the exact same spot
Why is my Magazine blank?
You’ve either exhausted the Perk Pool (There are only a total of 5 or 10 perks per Magazine type)
Or you’ve already unlocked a Perk from that Magazine number this playthrough (Each Magazine number can only unlock a Perk once per playthrough)
Where can I see the Magazine Perks I’ve already collected?

Do some Magazine types keep unlocking the exact same Perk ?
Yes, the following Magazines have the exact same Perk repeated in their Perk pool; Combatech Catalog, GRUNT Issue, Gunslinger’s Guide, Mining Monthly, Nova Galactic Manual, UC Defense Manual, and Va’ruun Scripture
Do those Perks stack with each other?
Yes, they do
