If you have never or rarely a hit a rabbit with a stone, then this video is for you! Personnally, I got really frustrated after a while and had to watch some YouTube videos myself.

The technique demonstrated in the video will not guarantee a hit, however if used correctly you should hit more rabbits than you miss. Needless to say that it takes a bit of practice as well. In the second half you will see lots of throws both hitting and missing the target.

Using stones is the best way to hunt rabbits in The Long Dark. It's easy and quick! Often I find myself killing 2-4 rabbits within only a few minutes. Using traps is a lot more time and material consuming than stones.
