Whether you're a fan of Google, a supporter of Bing, or curious about DuckDuckGo, changing your default search engine can make a big difference in your web experience. In this video I'll show you how to change the default search engine in Google Chrome on your Android device. It’s a quick and simple process, but it opens up a world of possibilities for customizing how you explore the internet.
Now let's walk through the steps to change the default search engine in Google Chrome on your Android device.
Step 1. Open the Google Chrome app on your Android device. You'll land on your Google Chrome home screen.
Step 2. Tap the vertical ellipses at the top of this screen. A menu opens.
Step 3. Tap "Settings" in this menu. The Settings screen is displayed.
Step 4. Navigate to the Basics section, and then tap "Search Engine" in this section. The Search Engine screen opens. Your current default search engine is selected, with other available search engine options appearing in this list.
Step 5. Tap to select what you want to be your new default search engine in Google Chrome on your Android device. In this example I'll choose Bing. Your change will be applied immediately.
