How to change language on Facebook
0Changing your language on the Facebook app is a straightforward process, whether you're using an Android or iPhone device. Facebook supports dozens of languages, and this setting allows you to customize the app’s interface—including buttons, titles, and menus—into the language of your choice. This is especially helpful if your app is currently in a language you don’t understand or if you want to view posts in another language by default.
To start, open the Facebook app on your device. If the interface is in a language you're unfamiliar with, don’t worry—most steps can still be followed by identifying icons and menu positions. Tap the menu icon, which is three horizontal lines. On Android, it's in the top right corner; on iPhone, it's at the bottom right. This will take you to the main menu.
Next, look for the gear icon, which represents Settings. You’ll usually find this in the top right corner of the menu screen. Tap the gear to open the Settings page.
Scroll through the options until you find "Language and Region." Even if you don’t recognize the language, you can identify this section by the globe icon (a small world symbol). Tap this option to enter the language settings.
Within this section, you’ll see several language options. The first one is the most important: “Language for Facebook.” Tap on it and choose your preferred language from the list. Once selected, the app will automatically reload with the new language applied.
You can also manage post translation settings here, including choosing which languages you want posts translated into, which ones you don’t, and which ones shouldn’t be automatically translated.
