Minecraft 1.17 came with some changes to command formatting, which we will talk about after the tutorial how to change the color of an item name.

It might be a bit more than tricky to change the color of your written book (or any item for that matter) as you will need to target the display name rather than the title.

If you rename a (written) book or any item in an anvil, it will show you new data, which is the display.name tag.

You will learn:
How to change the color of an item (in this scenario a book)
How to possibly fix command blocks that worked before Minecraft version 1.17
How to avoid using double quotations in what is considered a string JSON for object data
How part of commands that used to be JSON's now need to be formatted as string (thus add quotations) for it to work.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝟭.𝟭𝟳:
📋 /data modify block ¬ ¬ ¬ Items[{Slot:0b}].tag.Name set value '{"text":"Operation Manual", "color":"green"}'
📋 /data get block ¬ ¬ ¬ Items[{Slot:0b}]
