The TikTok name that's critical to have right is your username, which is your at handle on the platform. However, your profile name, or nickname, is also important and can be used to further reinforce who you are or the type of content people can find on your TikTok channel. You can change your TikTok profile name once every seven days.

Now let's walk through the steps to change your TikTok profile name, or nickname.

Step 1. Launch the TikTok app on your iPhone, iPad or Android device. You'll land on your TikTok home screen.

Step 2. Tap "Profile." You'll land on your TikTok profile screen.

Step 3. Tap "Edit Profile." The Edit Profile screen is displayed.

Step 4. Tap "Name." Enter what you want to be your profile name on TikTok, and then tap "Save." As a reminder, your TikTok nickname can't be longer than 30 characters, and you can only change it every seven days. A dialog box pops up asking if you want to set your TikTok profile name.

Step 5. Tap "Confirm." You'll be routed back to your TikTok profile screen, where you'll see the Name field now reflects your TikTok profile name.
