Here's a quick tutorial showing you how to change your domain name server (DNS) within Windows. This was done with a Windows XP system, so the exact screens will be slightly different, but it's fairly standard throughout recent Windows systems.

Domain name servers (DNS) help to translate typed addresses such as yahoo.com to internet protocol (IP) addresses like 72.30.2.43. If a DNS is not working properly, your computer will not be able to find the proper IP address for typed addresses in your web browser.

This was made due to the large East coast Comcast DNS outage that occurred on 11/28/2010.

The DNS addresses that I listed are:
Open DNS
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
208.67.222.220
208.67.220.222

Google DNS:
8.8.8.8
8.8.8.4

Sorry for the dry topic--just wanted to get something out there that would be useful for folks experiencing the same issue I had to deal with tonight.
