Video Transcript:
While Apple devices are wildly popular, they aren't without their share of problems. For example, almost every release of the iPhone sees some sort of hardware issue rise up around it: Antenna Gate with the iPhone 4; Bend Gate with the iPhone 6 Plus; Beauty Gate with the iPhone XS devices; and Charge Gate with the iPhone XS Max. As a result, should you run into problems with your Apple device it's important to understand whether or not you're still covered by Apple's limited warranty. The Apple limited warranty offers telephone technical support for a short window of time, and repairs and service coverage for eligible hardware repairs and service for up to a year. In this video I'll show you how to check your Apple warranty status so you'll understand whether you're covered or not.
Now let's walk through the steps to check your Apple warranty status.
Step 1. Open a web browser and navigate to appleid.apple.com. The Apple ID login screen appears.
Step 2. Enter your Apple ID username in the Apple ID field, and then click the right-pointing arrow on the right side of the field. A password field appears directly beneath where you entered your Apple ID username. Enter the password associated with your Apple ID and then click the right-pointing arrow on the right side of the Password field. You'll land on your Apple ID account information screen.
Step 3. Scroll down to the Devices section. A list of devices associated with your Apple ID is displayed.
Step 4. Click the Apple device that you want to check the Apple Warranty status on. In this example, I'll click my iPhone. A dialog box appears displaying information associated with your Apple device. The serial number will be displayed in this dialog box. Write down your device's serial number.
Step 5. Now navigate to checkcoverage.apple.com in your web browser. A Check Coverage screen appears.
Step 6. Enter your Apple Device's serial number in the Enter Your Serial Number field, and then enter the Captcha code. After entering the requested information in those two fields, scroll down the screen and then click the blue "Continue" button. An information screen associated with your Apple warranty appears.
Step 7. Scroll down the screen to see if you're eligible to purchase AppleCare, see if Apple has the verified purchase date of your device, see if you're eligible for telephone technical support, and to see if your Apple device is covered for eligible hardware repairs and service under Apple's warranty. Additionally, in the Telephone Technical Support and Repairs and Service Coverage sections, you'll see an expiration date for those services.
