How to Check if a Disk/Drive Is MBR or GPT
Your Windows machine can use GPT (GUID Partition Table) or MBR (Master Boot Record) partition. However, many people don’t know which partition type their computer is using. Therefore, in this article, we are going to show you how to check if a Disk uses GPT or MBR Partition in Windows 11 or Windows 10.
You can view this information in the DIsk Management tool incldued with Windows. To access it, right-click the Start menu or press Windows Key+X and select “Disk Management.” You can also press Windows Key+R to open the Run dialog, type “diskmgmt.msc” into the box, and press Enter.

GPT (GUID Partition Table) and MBR (Master Boot Record) are two different partition styles that can be used for a disk.
MBR disks use the standard BIOS partition table. GPT disks use unified extensible firmware interface (UEFI).
