10How to complete the Cow Catcher yule festival mission in AC VALHALLA:
0) Before you start, save the game in case something goes wrong (both a manual save and a quick save)! Several bugs and glitches have been reported for this mission.
1) Build the Cattle Farm building in the Ravensthorpe settlement.
2) Talk to Winfrith to start the quest.
3) Take Bertham across the river with a boat. Get him on, and row to the other side.
4) Hunt the missing cattle and collect 4 meat. Use your Raven and Odin Sight scan to locate the cows. Stay close to Bertham, so he will keep following you. There's a lot of dialogue to go through in the mission, so just be patient and don't rush too much.
- You'll eventually manage to hunt 3 cows, and the 4th one will be on top of the hill. DO NOT kill it, as Bertham needs to hunt it himself! A cutscene plays automatically when you get over there.
5) With the task completed, all you've got to do now is escort Bertham back to the settlement. Get him on the boat again and take him back across the river. Land on the sandy part on the left side so that you can get off the boat easily. If he doesn't follow you, try going straight to Winfrith to see if that will end the quest.
Ending: Talk with Winfrith to finish the quest and get 140 yule tokens (one time only, though). If you need more tokens, build the Brewery and do that mission for another 140 yule tokens. After that, you can farm yule tokens in the archery challenge Twirling Targets, which gives you 40 tokens every 2 minutes if you can get 1200 points. The Yule Festival lasts till the 7th of January, so keep that in mind.
If you have problems with the quest with bugs / glitches appearing, here are a few possible solutions:
- Try to load an earlier save and see if you can do the quest again. Saving the game before doing any sort of a quest is ALWAYS a good idea, because things can go wrong sometimes.
- Try fast travelling 3 times to different locations. This often resets the world.
- Try changing the difficulty settings, this forces the game world to reload as well.
- Try talking to Winfrith or other NPCs, especially if the 4 cows have been hunted already.
