How to beat the Moon Lord (TERRARIA 1.4 guide) - Classic / Normal - Super Fast & Easy Solo Method!
4,960How to beat the Moon Lord in TERRARIA 1.4 version all by yourself! This solo method is very easy and super fast, you can take him down in under 2 minutes (1 minute and 38 seconds to be exact)! All the gear is pre Moon Lord, so you can get it before you have ever killed the Moon Lord. This setup is also perfect for farming him for end game materials and weapons, like Luminite, Terrarian, Star Wrath etc, because it's so effective and quick to use. DIFFICULTY:
- Classic.
ARENA:
- A box of 5 x 5, then 4 empty space, then 1 more block as a wall. You can use any solid blocks here.
- 2 buckets of Honey, gives more life regeneration. Buckets you can make out of Iron / Lead, then go to the Underground Jungle and find a beehive, and scoop up some Honey with the Buckets.
- 1 Campfire, gives more life regeneration. Made out of any Wood & Torches.
- 1 Heart Lantern, gives more life regeneration. Make Chains out of Iron Bars / Lead Bars, then combine Chains with a Life Crystal.
- When you start the fight, close the box fully with more solid blocks. You do not even need to move anywhere, just stay still and attack the Moon Lord's eyes and heal when you need to!
- You can also use Bast Statue for 5 more defense, found in Sandstone Chests in the Underground Desert (not used here).
WEAPONS & BUFFS (TOOLBAR):
- Solar Eruption, a melee weapon that goes through walls. Made out of Solar Fragments dropped by the Solar Pillar.
- Stardust Dragon Staff, a summon minion. Made out of Stardust Fragments dropped by the Stardust Pillar.
- Super Healing Potion, heals 8 golden hearts. Made out of 4 x Greater Healing Potion + 1 Fragment from each pillar.
- Ironskin Potion, gives 8 more defense. Made out of Bottled Water, Daybloom and Iron Ore / Lead Ore.
- Regeneration Potion, gives more life regeneration. Made out of Bottled Water, Daybloom and Mushrooms.
- Any solid blocks, I'm using Stone.
ARMOR SETUP (83 defense with all the buffs):
- Beetle Armor, gives defense & melee boosts. Use the BEETLE SHELL chest piece for a defensive set bonus, which gives you an up to 45% damage reduction (do NOT use the Beetle Scalemail). Made out of Beetle Husks (dropped by Golem in the Lihzahrd Temple) and Turtle Armor (Chlorophyte Bars + Turtle Scales from Giant Turtles in the Jungle).
- Charm of Myths, more life regeneration & a 25% cooldown on potions. Made from a Band of Regeneration (found in Golden Chests) and a Philosopher's Stone (dropped by the fake treasure chest enemies called the Mimic, found in Hardmode everywhere under the Surface layer).
- Cross Necklace, helps you avoid the giant laser attack in Terraria 1.4! Dropped by the same fake treasure chest Mimic enemies as above (Hardmode, below Surface).
- Warrior Emblem, 15% more melee damage. Dropped by the Wall of Flesh boss in the Underworld hell area, just throw a Guide doll into the lava (just before Hardmode starts).
- Avenger Emblem, 12% more damage. Combine any Emblem dropped by the Wall of Flesh with 5 Souls from each Mechanical Boss in Hardmode.
- Shackle, 1 more defense. Use ANYTHING BETTER HERE, like a Celestial Shell, Moon Stone, Sun Stone, Flesh Knuckles, Destroyer Emblem, Fire Gauntlet, any Shield etc.
REFORGING YOUR GEAR:
- Go to the Goblin Tinkerer NPC to reforge your accessories and weapons for more defense (up to +4) and more damage. I don't have any modifiers on the gear except for +1 defense on the Shackle just to show you that you don't really need any with this setup, but more defense & attack never hurts!
FURNITURE BUFFS x 2:
- Bewitching Table, gives 1 extra minion slot so you can use a 2-part dragon! Buy it from the Witch Doctor.
- Sharpening Station, gives your melee weapon 12 armor piercing. Buy from the regular Merchant (not the travelling one).
STRATEGY FOR THE MOON LORD BOSS FIGHT:
- Attack all the eyes and take their health down as close to zero as you can without killing them.
- The Stardust Dragon targets the upper & right eyes, so be sure to focus on the left eye when you can.
- Remember to heal when you have 2 golden hearts left on the bottom row, you only have time for 2 heals in this fight!
- When all the eyes are close to zero in health, destroy all of them quickly in a row starting with the top one if possible (it keeps closing every now and then so it's the hardest to access).
- When all the eyes are destroyed, attack the chest.
- Success, you did it! Enjoy the credits, you finally beat Terraria! (or just gather all the sweet loot)
