How To Convert Stadia Controller to Bluetooth
Step-by-step of using the Google Chrome browser to download the latest firmware to convert the Google Stadia controller from Wifi to Bluetooth. This can all be done in-browser using Microsoft Windows. Google Stadia is now defunct, and any accessories made for Stadia are no longer supported. The Google Stadia controller bypassed local machines and connected via Wifi directly to Google's servers. Since Google is blocking connections to its servers for Stadia controllers, the controllers have become e-waste. Thankfully, Google has come up with a solution to enable Bluetooth on the controller and allow us to use it as a controller for Android, Windows, or Mac.
The Stadia controller uses Bluetooth Low Energy mode. It can also be used as a wired controller. If wired, the 3.5mm audio jack also passes through audio. In Bluetooth mode, no audio is passed through.
Once the firmware is updated to enable Bluetooth, Wifi direct connection is disabled permanently. The firmware and Google Chrome installer for the conversion is only available until the last day of 2023.
This video just shows the actual steps done in the web browser for those who were curious, those who are hesitant, and for posterity.
