Cropping (or reframing) a video on a Mac in 2022 is easier than ever – but all the results on Google tell you to download iMovie or Wondershare Filmora or something. That is insane. You do not need to do that. Do this instead.

This is useful if you want to crop a video vertically to make it a vertical video, crop it into a square to make it a square video. You can easily and quickly make a video 16:9, 1:1, widescreen, letterbox, portrait, whatever. This would be helpful if you're trying to resize a video for Instagram Reels, an Instagram Story, or a TikTok. Any aspect ratio can be achieved with this powerful and forbidden technique. Aspect ratios. You don't have to read this, by the way. I am typing all this in here in the hopes that someone searching YouTube or Google for "how to crop a video vertically on a Mac" also finds this video, since it would help them too. Which reminds me: you can do this on your MacBook Air, your MacBook Pro, your M1 Pro MacBook, your iMac, and even your Mac Pro. Those are all Apple Macintosh computers that run the "macOS" operating system.

If you you read this far for some reason, please go to http://youtube.com/babylonian and check out one of my real videos. I promise they're good.
