If you had a hotmail id in the past, you still have that account but instead of going to hotmail.com now you have to go to outlook in order to login into your account. Once you click on it, it's going to take you to this page over here. You can see where it says close your outlook.com account in blue and you want to click on this.
Once you enter the password of your account and click on sign in, it asks you to verify your ID. Since I don't want to delete my account, I'm not going to enter my passport and move on to the next step, so you have to enter your passport, then verify yourself through your email and once it's done, your account will be deleted.
