First off keep in mind this voids your warranty so before doing this make sure you test the processor and accept the fact that by doing this you alone are responsible for the outcome.

That being said delid'ing is a very rewarding and extremely useful technique. After delidding my 4770k i got temperatures at 27c idle to 65c under load at 4.5ghz. The video pretty much speaks for itself but I'll list the required tools below.

- Fresh razor blade (one sided)
- Neoprene or other surgical type gloves
- Anti-static wrist band
- Paper towels (preferably lint free cloth)
- Thermal paste cleaning kit (acetone and isopropyl alcohol)
- Patience

*Update: Tested this a few hours after I cleaned it up and we had idle temperatures in the mid 20's and loaded temps in the low 50's on a junk air cooler we had laying around. Great Success
