How to Disable Internet search in the Windows 11 Start and search boxes
When you try and search for local files or apps and programs on your Windows 11 device, it is a real pain that Microsoft insists on telling you lots of other information that is either unwelcome or just another resource hog on your system, so in todays video, we will be showing you an easy way to speed up and disable the Internet search section of the WIndows Explorer search box.
Stop the OS from pulling up web results when you just want files and apps.
Open the search menu, and type in gpedit to open the group policy editor.
Search the following sub folders
User Configuration
Administrative Templates
Windows Components
File Explorer
Now on the right hand side look for the following section
Turn off display of recent search entries in the file explorer search box.
In the options choose enable, restart the PC or force explorer.exe to restart and your WIndows Search box will now be free of unwanted Internet and Microsoft Bing!
