With the release of iOS 14.5, Apple introduced a new privacy feature that requires apps to ask for permission before tracking a user's activity across other companies' apps and websites. This feature is called App Tracking Transparency (ATT).
When an app wants to track you, you will be prompted with a message asking if you want to allow the app to track your activity. Users can choose to either allow or block the tracking. If a user chooses to block the tracking, the app will not be able to access the device's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), which is used to track user behavior across apps and websites for advertising purposes.
It's important to note that this feature only applies to apps that want to track users outside of their app. Apps can still collect data within their own app as long as they have disclosed their data collection practices in their privacy policy.
