WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) is an outdated and insecure WiFi protocol that leaves your network vulnerable to hacking. By turning off WEP networks and ensuring you're only connecting to WPA2 or WPA3 networks, you can improve your device's security and protect your personal data.
Step 1. Open the "Settings" app on your Android device.
Step 2. Tap "Network and Internet" in the primary menu. Associated options are shown on the screen.
Step 3. Tap "Internet." Internet options are displayed.
Step 4. Scroll down to the bottom of this menu, and then tap "Network Preferences." The Network Preferences screen is shown.
Step 5. Tap to toggle off "Allow WEP Networks." Detected WEP wireless networks will no longer be displayed for you to connect to going forward.
