On Windows 10 Pro, the Local Group Policy Editor includes policies to permanently disable automatic updates or change the update settings to choose when patches should be installed on the device.
To disable Windows 10 Automatic Updates:
1.Go to Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services.
2.Scroll down to Windows Update in the resulting list.
3.Double click the Windows Update Entry.
4.In the resulting dialog, if the service is started, click 'Stop'
5.Set Startup Type to Disabled.
To disable the Windows Update service in Services Manager, please follow the steps below:
1.Press Windows key + R.
2.Search for Windows Update.
3.Right-click on Windows Update, then select Properties.
4.Under General tab, set the Startup type to Disabled.
5.Click Stop.
6.Click Apply, and then click OK.
7.Restart your computer.
